Cara:Normal is just a setting on the washing machine

Edit Post
I have heard many people say over the past few weeks that they will get around to doing this or that when things get back to “normal” and quiet down (which I suppose meant when kids are back in school). But what the heck is normal? (what the heck is quiet for that matter!)
Two of my kids have different school start times this year so my “normal” routine from last year is different. It’s taken me this many weeks to get into some kind of groove here. My hubby’s work schedule is not a 9-5 type so every week figuring out dinner times and who needs to be where is an adventure.
I have a cat that eats dog food and says “Hello” when he meows. That certainly is not normal. I didn’t talk to my best friend for almost two weeks (just ‘cause we are “normally” so busy) but one day last week, we did have a virtual chat in my virtual apartment on an Internet game we both play. That’s just bizarre never mind normal.
But I guess normal really can’t be defined. One person’s “normal” is another person’s “off the wall”. You could drive yourself crazy trying to be normal like the next guy.
Sometimes our circumstances are out of our control and we have to create a new normal. Sometimes we can’t get back to the old normal that made us feel comfortable.
So I say embrace what is “normal” for you right now and remember, “the only normal people are the ones you don't know very well.”

normal is boring, but i wish for boring most of the time. i wish normal was being able to accomplish all that you need to with only 4 hours of sleep...
What in the world is normal. I can't even answer that one.
My normal changes every day too : )
