Cara; Post (Its)
I love to post like this almost as much as I love Post-it's themselves. With a sick little boy last night into this morning these post it's were a lifesaver today. Off to play nurse the rest of the day!
P.S thanks for the Post it idea from Corrie!
Recipe from tonight's dinner:
Macaroni & Cheese Bristol (from my SIL Kathleen)
2 cups whole wheat macaroni (I used elbow)
2 cups whole milk
1½ tsp salt
4TBL flour
4TBL butter; softened
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
2 cups grated cheese
Dry bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 400°.
Cook the macaroni until al dente, drain, and place in a casserole dish. Mix together the milk, salt, flour, and fat and cook in a double boiler until thick. Add the salt, pepper, dry mustard, and grated cheese, mix well, and heat stirring until the cheese is melted and well blended in. Pour over the macaroni in the casserole, sprinkle the top with dried bread crumbs, and bake for 15 minutes.
The secret, is the mustard. For cheese, uses the sharpest cheddar you can find or a mild cheddar if you prefer. The 'lumpy' problem with flour is fixed by adding the flour and butter to the milk and mixing it smooth before putting on the heat. Also use whole milk.
Very easily doubled, which for my crowd plus guest I double and a halfed it!

Oh, I have been up too. We have a sick girl and we are in the middle of a terrible blizzard. A mom and dad were killed on the roads yesterday. They leave 11 children under 16 years behind.
Take care.
I had a friend who was pregnant our senior year of high school. It's always disturbing to me to hear how old her oldest son is.
