Cara: Behave like a duck

Edit Post
Always behave like a duck; keep calm and unruffled on the surface, but paddle like hell underwater.
Something to think about. I suppose it's easy to stand back and look at other people and wonder what the hell they are thinking. If I am being honest I have been doing that a lot lately. (And I realize people could stand back and do that to me.)
It amazes me how people get so caught up in their own "stuff". They think just because others aren't running down the street pulling their hair out their lives are perfect. Just because some don't make the wrong choices over and over again and then scream about it from the rooftops doesn't mean they don't have "stuff" too.
But when people do the same things over and over again and are suprised and upset by the outcome it is very interesting to me. I want to say "DUH!"
But when people do the same things over and over again and are suprised and upset by the outcome it is very interesting to me. I want to say "DUH!"
"People" I know have let others do things that have made them mad or upset and have said nothing. This goes on and on for years. They are surprised after all these years that person is still being an ass and walking all over them.Duh.
"People" don't know how to say no and wonder why they are always drowning...duh.
"People" don't ever slow down long enough to take a reality check and realize that maybe they need to do things differently. duh.
I like the duck image. Not that I particularly like ducks, they are a little fresh. (hmm... wait that's probably a good trait??) But think of a duck gliding across the water, zipping along. Her feet are going a mile a minute. Looks easy.
So next time you see someone who you think has it easy, remember although her feathers are all unruffled, her feet are paddling like hell.

Great analogy! Never gave much thought to ducks before--keep paddling!
Wow Cara, Not sure to what you are referring, butI sooo agree. You never know what others are going through. I have been paddling for 31 years and it is all good and worth it and beautiful, difficult and stressfull!! But soo worth it so to you and all your readers Keep paddling!!
