PostHeaderIcon Cara: Three days

Three days to get ready....and I am not even making Thanksgiving dinner...but I am making all the desserts and some of the holiday company is staying here the night before, since sitting on parkway in traffic on The Day is a huge drag. So there's baking supplies to buy, beds to made up for company and serious cleaning to be done. Serious meaning moving furniture, attacking dust bunnies that may be lurking...recleaning bathrooms "cleaned" by teenagers, making sure there's extra towels clean, extra toilet paper,milk,coffee...blah, blah, blah. I may sound like I am complaining, but I am not. I love it. Company for the holidays is a lot of work, but it's worth it. Just that this week, three days just doesn't seem like enough time.

If I could go into a holiday bubble and just do the fun things that I need/want to it would seem like more fun than work. But with new "job" things I told hubby I would get done this week, PTA meeting, Advent wreath making at church, parent sport meetings and other "regular" things to do...72 hours just isn't enough time! But, I will forge ahead armed with "to do" lists, shopping lists and a plan of attack. (A mani-pedi would be delightful to squeeze in somewhere too!)

We will also venture in to the big city Wednesday to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade people blow up the balloons for the big day. I hope that's fun. I remember back in the day what fun Thanksgiving eve was...this perhaps is different kind of fun. (wink wink)

From Wednesday to Saturday we will be taking a blog break. This will free up some time to prepare for the day, enjoy the day, Black Friday shopping at the crack of dawn the day after, and the beginning of decking the halls on the weekend.

I am sure we will have much to be grateful for come Sunday.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from me...."

I am the same way! I sound like I am complaining, but not really. I love doing it all! I don't have quite as much on my plate as you. Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving!
