PostHeaderIcon Jenn: Moving

I know why people stay in their homes for 50 + years. Moving sucks. First you have to sell your house - okay that part wasn't so bad. We sold our house in a few days. Then you have to find a house - okay we did that too - but once you make an offer, you have to wait and wait and wait for the seller to make a counter offer. Then you can accept their counter or counter back. Once you have agreed on a price, it contract time - another pain in the ass. Contracts going back and forth, lawyers going back and forth, interest rates going up and down that you can't lock without the above contract. Okay -so now all contracts are signed and it's time to hurry up and wait. Wait for the mortgage, wait for the movers to come and give you a quote, wait for the town to update your CO for the shed that needs to be moved 30 inches. While your waiting, you start to pack - this is the fun part - throwing out. I am not a keeper - ask my kids and they will tell you that I throw most of their school work out. I keep the special things, but not most things. Still you accumulate a lot of STUFF that now needs to be packed, pitched, donated or sold. This is all very time consuming and while you are doing all this, you still have everyday life to attend to - school plays, classroom parties, field trips. Moving is exhausting - even thinking about it - I hope I never have to do it again! I can only imagine what all the unpacking brings.
