Jenn: Black Friday

In years past, I have participated in the Black Friday Bonanza. I had every intention of getting up yesterday morning and going. I woke up - I was freezing. Hubby has not yet set the thermostats to go on automatically - so I had to get up and turn the heat on. It was absolutely miserable outside - pouring rain and gusting winds. I went back to bed and decided no black Friday shopping for me. There was only one thing on my list that was a "deal" anyway and I decided it just wasn't worth it. The rain eventually stopped - the sun attempted to come out around 2 pm and my littlest one was asked to a play date. My big kids and I decided to hit Target and see if they had the only item on my Christmas wish list for their little sister... and lo and behold - the store was empty - every register was open and there it was - the Casio Keyboard for $49... and I didn't even have to go out at 5 am! I was in and out in about 8 minutes. Came home to my nice warm house and did some online shopping... had a bit of a hard time getting on the Ugg site - but got it eventually - ordered the girls boots ( a gift from Grandma -yea me!) and the boy a PS2 (again thanks grandma!) and called it a day. Enjoyed leftover Turkey with all the trimmings.
Today is Hubby's Birthday - no big plans - up to town for breakfast and having his Mom and sister over for an early dinner of Chicken Parm - his favorite - I make it every year for his birthday. Hoping to get the Christmas Tree up today and do a little decorating. Have a great weekend!
Cara's two cents: Happy Birthday Mr Jenn. xoxo to you! even though you don't read our blog!

I have a friend who usually does Black Friday who said the same thing - she slept in and went to Wally World later in the day and it was empty and she still got some awesome deals! I, on the other hand, was still out the door while it was still dark out and did 11 hours of shopping. It was fun! :-)
i too avoided the BF mayhem and that is to awesome that you found what you were looking for.
I should have done what you did and slept in. I went to Toys R Us at midnight and it was pure madness! Of course, they didn't have the one thing I was there to get... Later that day we went to Walmart. No lines. No crowd. In and out within 20 minutes. Got lots of $2 and $5 DVDs. I think next year I'll just sleep in.
Stopping by from SITS! :)
I am not brave enough to face the black Friday crowd, I do however love cyber Monday!
