One of my favorite things about where I live is leaving a Broadway theatre at 9:30 p.m. and being able to be at the school bus stop at 9:00 a.m.
We went to see Jersey Boys with the T's last night. "Oh what a night!" (sorry couldn't resist that). Everyone I told that we were going gave rave reviews about the show. So we were excited to see it.
Of course our jaunt was not without a little drama. Ask anyone who knows me, I always have a story to tell. It could be the most menial experience, yet I will have a story. Maybe why blogging and I get along so well?
Day before the show I can't find the tickets. I get up thinking about what I have to do and get this feeling of dread. Go to look where I keep things like Broadway show tickets...and they are not there. I remember weeks back taking them out to look at them with the T's to figure out where our seats were. I put them on the kitchen counter and said to myself then.."I'd better put them away they are going to get lost here." Self fulfilling prophecy. So needless to say I am FREAKING OUT!!!! Poor hubby stayed home in the morning decided he would go in a little late. He was sorry he did. We ripped the house apart...but I knew they got thrown out. (probably with some of Ant's birthday checks that apparently got thrown away too!!!) I called the place where we got the tickets from and the orangutan (haven't heard that in awhile have we?) on the phone said "yeah sorry there's nothing we can do about it....if you ever find the tickets we will give you new ones to a new show" WHAT?????????????? (I think I may have even said WTF????) "I want a manager on the phone!!!" Orangutan: "she is busy right now". WHAT????????????? Give her my number and wait for manager to call me back. Well, long story short (ok too late for that now...I guess) they give a new confirmation number in an email. I have to go to the Will Call window at the theater and they will have my tickets but I must bring a copy of the email, my ID and the credit card it was purchased with. I feel slightly better. Not totally confident with the arrangement but at least I can face my friends who have been looking forward to this with us for months. We went into the city early to get some dinner before the show. We ate at at tiny little hole in the wall Italian place on Columbus Ave., where you can go to the wine store on the corner buy a bottle of wine and bring it with you to dinner. Love that. We walked around the neighborhood a little got some coffee and treated ourselves to cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery, then drove over to the theater. I love my city. You can feel the holiday excitement already in the air. Macy's is already starting to decorate. There were kids everywhere. We walked past the theatre where Shrek is playing and it was loaded with kids. It's 8:00 pm on a Tuesday here people! The Will Call window was uneventful I am happy to report. She didn't even ask for ID. The show was nothing short of fantastic like everyone said. The music made you dance in your seat, the story line was so well done, woven in and out of the music. I was never a huge Frankie Valli fan. I mean I really never thought about him one way or the other...but I LOVE him now. It was a great feel good show that had people up out of their seats dancing....literally. I highly recommend seeing it if it's ever in your neck of the woods. Sing along a little today!

Sounds like a lot of fun. I love the comment about your hubby possibly regretting the decision to go into work late that day.
how fun, my old office was in the theatre district, I still miss it! And I'm totally OCD about losing tickets, I drive myself nuts checking and rechecking that I still have them.
thanks for the follow, following you back!
