Jenn: To call or not to call?

I live next to the town library. I love living next to the library. It's great for me and for my kids. We use all its resources and even the parking lot when the library is closed.
Lately the library parking lot has become a hangout for teenagers. We have been in our home 9 months and haven't had a problem until the last few weeks. Kids are drinking in the parking lot. Cars are speeding through the parking lot. The kids that are drinking are clearly underage. They are loud. They have foul mouths. They leave a mess. The last few times it happened, I closed my windows, turned on my A/C and left them alone. Do I want to get these kids in trouble? Absolutley not. Do I want them to drink somewhere else? Absolutely. So do I call the cops and have them come chase them off? I don't know. The house behind me is currently empty - but that is changing in the next few days. This family has two small children and a baby on the way - there is no way they are going to be able to put up with noisy teenagers - and they are way closer to the parking lot than our house is. I think I will let them make the call. What would you do?

Please call the cops, maybe these kids aren't bothering you too much now but they are breaking the law. Besides underage drinking it sounds like they are probably getting in their cars after drinking and driving away... risking their own lives and those of innocent bystanders.
I understand not wanting to get kids in trouble but loitering drinking teens with cars is a bad combination. I wouldn't want them anywhere near my house. Good luck! :)
Make the call.
You should call Jenn! You will be doing their parents a favor!
Call they are endangering themselves as well as others. They should not be drinking in your backyard, or anywhere else for that matter!!
I would definitely CALL!! You say you don't want to get them in trouble and want them to go drink somewhere else... but yet that they're underage?! Getting a scare from the cops would actually be good for them & maybe 1 or 2 of them would learn a well needed lesson!
