Jenn: Christmas Magic

Last night a mysterious package turned up on our doorstep. It was wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string. There was no return address but it was covered in postage stamps from the North Pole and another stamp that read Elf Workshop #5. This created unbelievable excitement in my house. Had Santa himself, sent an early Christmas Present? It was addressed to the the children of the household and had our address on it. My youngest, Lu, tore into the package - it was a SHELF ELF - Santa sent her a SHELF ELF. Giggles, tears, screaming with Joy. I wish I had videotaped it. It even had the same blue eyes as Lu and brown hair. We went online and gave him a name - Bernard - like the elf in The Santa Claus. We read the story and then put him on the dresser in Lu's room. She was so excited she couldn't sleep and ended up staying up till around 10:30 and waking this morning at 5:15 to go looking for Bernard. She is bringing the wrapping paper into school today to share.
Meanwhile, during all the chaos of Bernard's arrival, Mae, threw a handful of ice out the backdoor. A girl at dance had told her that if you wear your PJ's inside out (check), throw ice outside (check) and sleep with a spoon under your pillow (?) it will snow. Well guess what happened? Yep you got it - it snowed.
So there is Christmas Magic in the air at my house. Lots of excitement as the countdown to Christmas continues. Hope there is magic in your house too.
Cara: What a wonderful day! Everyday should begin that way. You made me cry this morning...so glad someone decided to drop them off at Mike & Lu's...like I say all the time some days we moms just totally get it right!!!! :D
