PostHeaderIcon Cara: Simply Christmas

And no I don't mean keep it "simple"...go hard or go home. Last night was the elementary school Christmas concert. ( it was really great by the way...kids were awesome, I got choked up listening to them rock the band and sing their Christmas songs about friends...the usual)

But I don't care that the program said Winter Concert...we all know it's a Christmas concert. Let's face it there's 9 million Christmas songs. I know of one Hanukkah song...each group last night played a version of it...it's the same one I sang when I was in 4th grade. And don't get me wrong...it's catchy. But it's the only show in town. And I don't know of any "other" holiday songs to speak of. While we are on the subject I am over all the "holiday" this and "winter" that. It's Christmas and that's that. If you don't like it, change the radio station and go to Mars during Christmas week. The end.

The lady in Target and the lady in Michael's yesterday both said Merry Christmas to me when I checked out. I nearly fell over. What I was buying screamed Christmas so I guess they knew they were "safe" saying it to me but still. I haven't heard a store person say that in ever. (Jenn, I understand had the same experience in Target yesterday...I wonder if it was the same lady? I hope it wasn't.)

I am so tired of the political correctness especially at this time of year. If you are offended by my Christmas lights then don't look. If don't like the Christmas music in the stores..I suggest shopping on December 26th..prices are awesome and Muzak will be blaring once again throughout the store.

Simply, it's Christmas. Get over it.
