Jenn: simplicity

As you can see by the lack of posting, the blog has kind of fallen off the radar. I couldn't exactly tell you why but I can guess. Parenting teens & Tweens is a big job. Who knew! As our kids get bigger their lives seem to get crazier & more complicated thus leaving us crazier and time-starved. The blog was on the back burner and now seems to have fallen right off the stove - too many other things cooking. Cara & I haven't really talked about the blog in awhile - we will get to it eventually but right now we are trying to get through the lazy hectic days of summer.
I think my needs and wants and even philosophies on life are changing. I am looking for something simpler and maybe that is just a sign of aging. All the hustle & bustle that once had me thriving has me irritated and overwhelmed. All the things I used to think I wanted or needed have been overridden with a need for less.
I have a friend on FB whose long time partner is critically ill. I had been reading his posts for over a year now about the struggle they have been facing. Today he posted that the end is near but he said it with such beauty that made it seem almost like a good thing. He tends to put positive posts everyday - he is definitely a Susie Sunshine kinda guy- but those posts, in the face of such sadness, make me want to do better. To be better. To just let stuff go and live within my own self for awhile, to make me happy and then in turn to make my family happy.
If you know me, you know I am not a keeper of stuff - physical stuff- but there is some mental stuff I am hanging on to. It's time to de-clutter and let it all go. I want to be happy for everyone. Not harbor ill will or negative vibes. Just live my life, day-to-day, and do it without angst or worry. Easier said than done but I'm trying! Happy Summer. Think I'll go float in the pool for awhile.

Enjoy your float in the pool. It's always good to let go.
