Isn't just March nutty? It always is for me. My first baby was born in March...three weeks early..my water broke at my baby shower...then there was a huge snowstorm so we had to bring her home a day earlier than we were scheduled to go home...in literally a foot of snow. (Oh! And I had no shoes, my family forgot to bring them for me!)

One day I wear my flip flops to run to the store...then the next day I am bundled up with a scarf and gloves freezin' my petunias off at the baseball field.

I want a fire in the fireplace at sundown after an afternoon of reading my magazine out in the sun.

We set the clocks ahead and everyone's a little off for a few days especially when I take a week to change the clock in the car and can't remember what the heck time it's supposed to be!

After a winter of staying in and long cold nights...suddenly no one wants to do homework after school...we eat dinner late cause it feels like 5:30 but really it's 7:00...and it's waaay too cozy in bed in the morning to get up before the birds. Suddenly the calendar "squares" are jammed packed with a zillion "to do's"...sports kick in full throttle...and graduation day is only weeks away.

March Madness may have something to do with basketball for some people but it's got a totally different meaning for me! I am so hoping for permanent flip flop weather sooner than later.

As Robin Williams said "Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" Sounds good to me.

I know it's not spring exactly yet...but yesterday sure was a good taste of it. Already I feel my winter blues melting away. Today promises to be just as nice so it's back to walking in the mornings with the girls. I feel so much better when we walk. Some mornings I am not in the mood but I am always glad I did it.

My daffodils are starting to poke through the ground in the front yard. The men of the house were out yesterday afternoon doing a little outside spring cleaning and then went off to play some golf. I bought new sheers for my front window to let the light in. It's amazing what a little sunshine and 50something degree weather can do for your soul!

Inside spring cleaning is underway. I have been repainting furniture. Making something old into new, I am finding is as much fun as buying it! I am taking down all my snowmen that are scattered throughout the house. There will be no more cute winter reminders around here by the end of the week. Winter stopped being cute about 5 weeks ago!

So here's to crocus blooming in random places, sunshine on your face and a spring in your step!!


And most important...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DIVA! It's been 17 years of nonstop Diva and I wouldn't have it any other way!! xoxoxo

Jenn's Two Cents: A Very Happy Birthday to my favorite Diva! I am so happy to hear Cara is putting her snowmen away - I was complaining about them last week - I am so done with winter - and I know those March winds will send a little reminder every now and then - but I will take these sunshine, spring-filled days whenever we get them.

It's coming. I knew it would. The first signs are always just so exciting. It starts with a smell - the air has a cleaner, crisper, warmer feeling. The birds begin to sing again. Hundreds of them - singing their own tune, a chorus of different sounds. The dogs want to stay outside instead of taking care of business and running back in. It takes the kids a little longer to walk home from school. The crocuses begin to bloom - yep blooming flowers - the surest sign of all Spring is almost here and I am very ready.

Over the past few weeks, I have read a number of break-ups with old man winter on facebook. It was very funny to read - but very true at the same time. Enough already - enough with the snow and the snow days and the wet snow pants and mittens and boots - and the cold and the dark - enough. I guess he got the message - because when I saw that Crocus yesterday blooming under my deck, I knew Spring was almost here. This is our first Spring in our house. I don't know what the yard will look like or if there are any unexpected surprises waiting for me underground. I did plant some Tulips when we moved in. That's it. I am excited to see what the warm weather brings. I woke up this morning at 6:15 and thought I had overslept - it was bright out - the sun is waking-up a little earlier to keep me company. I don't like waking up in the dark - I am much happier waking up to sun shining on my face, even if it is 6 am. So bring it on Spring - I am ready. Ready to open the windows and even wash them too - ready to go outside and take a walk. I am ready to Spring Clean and put those winter woolies away.

Cara's two cents: I think I may have issues when I read Spring Cleaning and got a little happy...weirdo! I am on the lookout for crocus here too...will let you know when there's a sighting!
